The performance evaluation for Application Secure Simple Network Management Protocol (APSSNMP) was presented. The objective of the APSSNMP was to solve the security issues faced by Simple Network Management Protocol version 1 and 2 (SNMPv1 and SNMPv2). It was suggested that the APSSNMP allows a manager to set values to an agent with confidentiality via encrypted values. It was also suggested that the APSSNMP is advantageous compared to SNMP version 3, because of its smaller size of implementation and the higher processing overhead used by SNMPv3.
