Anglo-American relations and the religious cold war

America cast the cold war as one of history's great religious wars, between the godless and the god-fearing, between good and evil. The significance religion was accorded in the American approach to cold war politics had a notable impact on Anglo-American relations as religion became a measure not simply for a nation's morality and justice, but also for democracy and freedom.
