A land-based closed flare for burning hazardous wastes was constructed in 2003 at LUKOIL-Ukhtaneftepererabotka Co. by the efforts of several organizations. This flare (the basic project was executed by Callidus Technologies) is a system of land-based multistory burners that ensure complete combustion of hydrocarbon gases with a low content of nitrogen oxides and carbon (CO) protected by a barrier (screen).
