摘要
In order to achieve the grindability of super abrasive grinding wheels, a new kind of electroplated CBN grinding wheel has been designed based on the phyllotaxis theory of biology, and fabricated by the use of ultraviolet lithography and electroplating technology. With the help of grinding experiments, the grinding performances of the cylindrical wheels with different abrasive configurations, including phyllotactic pattern, staggered pattern, and random distribution, have been experimentally investigated and analyzed. The results have shown that under the same grinding conditions, the grinding performance of the electroplated CBN grinding wheel tends to reach a steady state with the increase of the accumulated material removal, and phyllotactic coefficient and grinding parameters have a great impact on its grinding performance. The grindability of the grinding wheel with the phyllotactic pattern of abrasive grain is better than the other abrasive configurations.
