摘要
Abstract—Large single-crystal films of p-sexiphenyl and its derivative with terminal trimethylsilyl substituents are grown under physical-vapor-transport conditions. The structure of the single-crystal films is studied by X-ray diffraction. In the crystals of the trimethylsilyl derivative there is a significant shift of molecular π systems relative to each other inside the (001) layers with “herringbone” packing in comparison with the crystal structure of p-sexiphenyl. The optical absorption and photoluminescence spectra of the studied substances in tetrahydrofuran solutions are obtained and analyzed. The presence of –Si(CH3)3 terminal substituents in the molecule is found to cause a slight bathochromic shift in the absorption and photoluminescence spectra of the solutions.
