Utricularia rostrata A. Fleischm. & Rivadavia (Lentibulariaceae) is described from the Chapada Diamantina highlands in Bahia state, north-eastern Brazil. The morphological characteristics which distinguish this new species are discussed, together with its distribution and ecology. © The Board of Trustees of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew 2009.
