Abstract: Under consideration is the solution of the Helmholtz equation by the boundary elementmethod using the fast multipole method in the context of acoustics problems. For a modelproblem we compare the accuracy of the results obtained by the fast multipole method and theavailable analytical solution. Also, we propose an original approach to computation of the rotationcoefficients for the spherical harmonic decomposition of the multipole series. © 2021, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
