China’s foreign policy in global and regional aspects

This scientific paper presented by the author last November at an RAS Presidium meeting analyzes an interesting political problem from the scientific point of view. The behavior of a large power, such as modern China with its population of more than one billion, in the international arena raises particular interest of the world community and, naturally, of its nearest neighbor and partner, Russia. The discussion on the problems touched upon in this paper is abridged.
