摘要：

Automation has been generally used to reduce human fatigue. Industrial automation involves the use of control systems along with computers to control processes. A programmable logic controller (PLC) is one such digital computer used for automation of electromechanical processes. This paper explains the automation of a sugar mill using a programmable logic controller and a panel board is also designed for the control of a hydraulic drive used in the mill. This helps. in monitoring and maintaining the safety of any industry can be maintained. In addition features like human machine interface and distributed control systems can also be used in the design.
