摘要
Medical residency is a fundamental stage in the preparation and training of new specialists, the requirement and dedication can be at the limit this leads to the doctors to suffer professional burnout or burnout syndrome. Objective. To determine the prevalence of the syndrome in Spanish-speaking hospitals. Methods and Materials Systematic review study, the field of study were resident doctors evaluated through the Maslach burnout inventory (MBI) questionnaire. Results We analyzed 30 articles, the field of study was 2269 residents with an average of 29 years of age, the prevalence of the syndrome was higher in singles and women in relation to married doctors and men. The data averaged in this revision of the (SB) was 57%, personal exhaustion 43%, depersonalization 35.8% and personal fulfillment 41%. It is concluded that professional attrition has a high incidence in medical residency over other stages of medicine development, damages the quality of life of the doctor, affects the quality of care, may have consequences on the health of patients, so It requires a mental health program to be evaluated annually by doctors.
