摘要
This paper presents the investigation results in improving the detection capabilities of a forward scatter radar (FSR) employed as a part of a passive coherent location (PCL) radar. One of the characteristic features of PCL radars is the direct path interference (DPI) cancellation during signal processing, which can lead to a significant reduction of the FSR component. The paper shows the basics of FSR operation principles and two methods of solving the DPI cancellation problem. One of these methods involves signal reconstruction, shown using a DVB-T signal. The second one relies on using the reference signal gathered in a different geographic location. Proper processing schemes and measurement scenario geometries are proposed. Real-life results support the presented theoretical analysis.
