A critical discourse analysis of the education magazine Klasse: development of an analytical framework

摘要
In this article, we analyse the steering functioning of the educational magazine Klasse. This magazine is published by the Flemish educational government aiming at informing and communicating with the people in educational practice. In a pilot study of four issues of Klasse, the methodology of Critical Discourse Analysis was adapted to the dataset and the research interest, focusing at the order of discourse in the magazine. This order of discourse is based on a detailed analysis of the text features of Klasse. We describe and illustrate both the analytical framework for text analysis and the discourses, genres and profiles that are the results of the discourse analysis. Finally we focus on the implicit positioning of the government and the participants in education practice in this order of discourse. In this way, a better insight is obtained in the current relationship between the government and education practice.
