Cerebral embolia in patients with prosthetic mechanic heart valves

摘要：
The review focuses on embolia of cerebral vessels in patients with prosthetic mechanic heart valves. The highest risk for embolia is observed in the first 3 months after the surgery, a frequency of embolia being dependent on the type and position of the artificial valve. Methods for prevention of post-surgery thromboembolic complications are considered.
