摘要
In this paper, a broadband mobile handset antenna with a metal bezel is analyzed by utilizing the theory of characteristic modes (TCM). Through the design of monopole and T-shaped structures, four different characteristic modes of the antenna are excited, and the dual-frequency characteristic of the antenna is realized. At the same time, by loading an inductive element on the monopole, the high-order mode frequency of the monopole is shifted to the lower-frequency, which will expand the bandwidth of the antenna. The simulated results exhibit -6dB bandwidths of the proposed antenna are 820-960 MHz and 1500-2940 MHz.
