Structural Design of Electro-Magnetic Damper Using Electric Motive Force

摘要
In order to replace mechanical hydraulic or viscous friction dampers, a new electro-magnetic damper for active vibration control and vibration energy recovery is suggested in this paper. The suggested electro-magnetic (EM) damper has very simple structure like that of mechanical viscous damper, and not a big cost increase. The damping force is generated by the instantaneous magnetic flux change that links the damping coil when the permanent magnet mounted on the plunger of the rod vibrates. The elector magnetic structural design is studied to generate enough damping force in this paper. And the validation of EM damper is verified by FEA result.
