摘要：
The paper summarises the main dimensions of the INTELCITY Roadmap. This lays out scenarios of the intelligent city and a vision of an integrated open-system city platform (IOSCP) intelligent information system to support the knowledge society (KS) and sustainable development of cities (SUD). The main steps of "how we want to get there" in terms of prioritised key research challenges over 3 year, 5 year and 10 year periods are outlined as well as a research strategy and landing places that aim to achieve the parallel EU policy objectives of KS by 2010 and SUD by 2030. The needs of the main stakeholders are identified and the main actions key players should take are explored. The Roadmap builds on an iterative methodology to build the consensus of stakeholder interests.
