摘要
In this paper, we study the effect of the radiative losses during selective laser melting process of stainless steel. We have used two softwares, one to obtain the initial powder bed distribution with a discrete ele-ment method (DEM) calculation, the other, to analyze the temperature-velocity profiles with the Ansys-Fluent software. Our study is developed in the mesoscale using the two models, solidification/melting and the volume of fluid (VOF), which are implemented in the Ansys Fluent and the main obtained results are for a 100 W laser power and a 0.15 m/s scanning speed. It is shown that the radiative losses are of important influence on the melt pool dynamic and behavior, on the melting time of the powder as well as on the occurrence of the Marangoni convection. It was also noted that the values of the maximum temperature obtained when the pseudo stationary stage is reached are widely different in the case where radiation losses are included and when these are neglected.Copyright (c) 2022 Elsevier Ltd.
