A diode-pumped simultaneous continuous-wave (cw) dual-wavelength Pr3+ :LYE4 laser in the green spectral region is experimentally demonstrated. We calculate the condition of gain-to-loss balance via an uncoated glass plane to achieve the simultaneous dual-wavelength operation. The simultaneous dual-wavelength Pr3+ :LiYF4 laser at 546 nm in pi-polarization and 550 nm in a-polarization is experimentally realized. At an absorbed pump power of 1.5 W, the maximum output power obtained at 546 urn and 550 nm is 184 mW and 158 mW, respectively. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved
