Influence of magnetism on the peak rotation of core-level photoelectrons

摘要
A circular dichroism in the angular distribution of photoelectrons (CDAD) can be observed as the so-called 'peak rotation'. The symmetry of this CDAD is broken by magnetic scattering. It is shown that this symmetry-breaking can be related directly to the relative difference between the scattering cross-sections sigma(tot) for spin-up and spin-down electrons. For the system Fe/W(110) with one monolayer of iron, the expressions are evaluated for the W 4f(7/2) core-level photoelectrons. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
