The article examines words and expressions relative to the color yellow. The only note Leonardo explicitly dedicated to fresco painting (F96v) is linked to the aspects of his life, of his activity, of his studies and of the environments that Leonardo frequented at the end of 1510s, with the aim of allowing a dialogue between historical lexicography and history of technics and of science.
