摘要
The adsorption of Cr(VI) on a new adsorbent called "polymeric tannins", which were synthesized from tannic acid and formaldehyde, has been investigated by a series of batch experiments. Uniform experiments were used to obtain the optimum conditions for the synthesis. The effect of the pH, initial concentration of Cr(VI), and contact time were investigated in the adsorption experiments to obtain the optimum conditions for the sorption. The maximum adsorption capacity of Cr(VI) reached 112.5 mg.g(-1) when the temperature was 65 degrees C, the initial pH was 2.0, the initial concentration of Cr(VI) was 78 mg.L-1, and the contact time was 16 h. The results suggested that polymeric tannins synthesized under the optimum conditions are an inexpensive and efficient adsorbent for the removal of Cr(VI) from aqueous solutions.
