摘要
This manuscript presents an analytical model of eddy current losses in an interior permanent magnet motor (IPM) due to carrier frequency and harmonic current in maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) control operation. The influence of pulse width modulation (PWM) and motor design parameters has been considered to evaluate the increase in losses due to carrier harmonics based on PWM ripples and harmonic power loss derivations. The results are validated using a coupled 2-D FEA model and experimental tests conducted in a laboratory IPM.
