Synthesis, Characterization and Crystal Structure of Two Metal-Organic Complexes with MOPIP

摘要
Two unusual zero-dimensional (OD) compounds, viz. [Cd(MOPIP)(3)(H2O)(9)](4n) (1) and [Mn(MOPIP)(3)(H2O)(6)](2n). (2), are synthesized by the combination of two different metallic salts and 2-(4-methoxypheny1)-1H-imidazo[4,5-f] [1,10] phenanthroline (MOPIP) ligand. The compounds have been hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized by elemental analysis, IR. spectrum, TG and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The results show that every metal ion is hexa-coordinated with six nitrogen atoms from three different MOPIP ligands in the crystal structure, showing a slightly distorted octahedral geometry.
