摘要：

We assess the prevalence, gray-scale and color-Doppler patterns of thyroid nodules in 352 consecutive patients with no history, symptoms or clinical signs of thyroid disease at Ultrasound (US) examination. US abnormalities were classified in diffuse (inhomogeneous) and nodular. Number, size, location, echotexture and color-Doppler pattern were assessed. In our series the prevalence of small, hypoechoic thyroid nodule with peripheral vascularization was high, suggesting the conservative approach to these type of findings unless clear signs of malignancy are detected at B-mode and/or color Doppler US examination.
