摘要
Vehicular ad hoc networks are characterized by the dynamic movements of vehicles and intermittent and lowbandwidth connectivity and topology among vehicular nodes and roadside infrastructure. One way of understanding the general flow of traffic in an urban city is analyzing the movements of the vehicles that ply the roads and how road data can be disseminated to ensure travel convenience, road safety, and immediate response to urban emergency situations. In this work, data dissemination in a vehicular network employing empirical mobility traces is analyzed. Particularly, the method of index coding is incorporated to minimize the number of transmissions and transmitted size. Junctions of busy cities and their taxi mobility traces will be used to evaluate how much dynamic and static data are available and requested in a given period.
