TEM investigation of WC-Co cemented carbides after heat treatment

摘要
Speciments of YG11C and YG13C cemented carbides were subjected to various heat treatments. The structures of the specimens were analyzed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The existences of CoxWyCz phases were ascertained by electron diffraction. Their effects on fee cobalt were discussed in terms of the transverse rupture strengths of the cemented carbides before and after the heat treatment. The results show after heat treatment the epsilon-M, Co3W, Co7W6 and K-Co3W9C4 phases may strengthen the fee cobalt in the alloys, thereby improving the transverse rupture strength of the cemented carbides.
