This study examines the privacy and security obstacles encountered during the implementation of an electronic health record system known as the e-SiHi system (i.e. Electronic System for Integrated Health Information). e-SiHi was recently adopted by King Saud University Medical City (KSUMC), Saudi Arabia. The research proposed a solution to the challenge of lack of trust of healthcare physicians, which includes more restrictive access controls, and prevents any form of unauthorized or non-relevant access to patients' information.
