In 1995 and 1996 two field experiments were conducted concerning the biological control oft. decemlineata, 1995 with two treatments per season, 1996 with one. Potato yields were measured in both years. The effects of the treatments could best be measured by the degree of defoliation, since beetle larvae survived the treatments partly without feeding any more. Double treatments with NeemAzal-TS as well as with Btt ("Novodor") gave significant potato yield increase, but a single treatment only in case of NeemAzal. The economic output (in organic farming) was highest in the NeemAzal-treatment (net gain DM 4450/ha in 1996). L. decemlineata larvae surviving the treatments were able to pupate in the Btt-plots only, but not in the NeemAzal-plots (1995).
