With regard to the problems of crack resistance and the insufficiency of durability of semi-rigid base materials, this paper demonstrates a systematic research on mechanics property indexes of the durability of the flexible fiber reinforced semi-rigid base materials, such as toughness, anti-scour, anti-impact, and anti-fatigue performance by laboratory experiments, and makes a comparison with the common semi-rigid base materials. Furthermore, its pavement performance is inspected by testing road construction and follow-up observation. The results show that toughness, anti-scour, anti-impact and anti-fatigue performance of the flexible fiber reinforced semi-rigid base materials are significantly improved than those of the common semi-rigid base materials. And its application on road base provides an effective solution to the issues of massive pavement destruction, high maintenance costs, reconstruction ahead of schedule, as well as the waste of resources, environmental pollution and others caused by insufficient anti-cracking ability and durability of semi-rigid base. In this paper, the results of the study are of great value to extend the utilization of the flexible fiber reinforced semi-rigid base, and of great significance to keep sustainable development of highway construction.
