Effect of cationic pretreatment on modified pigment printing of cotton

摘要
The printing behavior of modified pigment with an anionic polymeric dispersant on chemical pretreatment of cotton by cationic reagent with CIBAFIX ECO using an exhaustion method was investigated. The effects of cationic pretreatment on color yields and fastness properties are discussed in detail. The physical tensile strength increased slightly after cationization. However, the modified cotton fabrics lost whiteness index values. The fixation process is a necessary process for improving fastness properties. It has been shown that the ionic bond is not strong enough between modified cotton and modified pigment. The curing method is more suitable than the steaming method for modified pigment printing.
