摘要
This page discusses a method for predicting the container volume by application of the Pearson type III distribution combined with an expert-predicted economic factor. Based on the historical data of exported container volumes of China, this method fits the data into the Pearson type III distribution and then acquires a fit plot in required accuracy. Through analysis of the historical economic statistics, given the economic factor of the year of that the container volume is to be predicted, the growth probability of container volume of the year can be determined on the plot, hence the predicted container volume. This paper also provides a comparison between the predicted results from this method with those from others.
