摘要：
Electroslag welding process has been studied in order to apply special welding joint with thick plate where can not be applied by conventional auto-welding processes in the shipbuilding yard. These days, electroslag welding process can not be used during the shipbuilding because there are some problems such as weld imperfections and insufficient properties. In this study, electroslag welding for special welding joint was performed according to various thickness and types. Various process types of electroslag welding were tested to apply the welding joint that is difficult to use electrogas welding process or CO2 welding process. Therefore, the feasibility of electroslag welding process was verified as similar level of electrogas welding process. The mechanical properties of electroslag welding were improved owing to the reduction of excessive welding heat input by researching welding groove type, guide nozzle, process type and so on.
