Study on Route Selection of Sustainable Development of Resource-based Cities A Case Study of Panjin

The development of resource-oriented cities has been faced with severe restriction due to the over consumption of the resources, the environment pollution and the employment difficulties. Taking the city of Panjin as an example and based on comprehension of the definition of resource-based city, continuous and substitute industry and its pattern, the author analyzed the economic status and growing pains according to resources and geographic conditions of Panjin. Finally, the article presented a route selection of sustainable development of resource-based cities through investigating the theory and mode of transition of resource-based cities providing scientific basis for implementing the policy of Revitalization of the old industrial base of Northeast China.
