摘要
Drone has become an important buzzword in the logistics sector in recent times. Drone deliveries have a two-pronged advantage as they have the potential to lessen delivery time by avoiding traffic congestions, and the inherent structure that reduces its carbon footprint compared to traditional modes of transportation under some restrictions. To leverage this potential, many companies across the world have developed and tested drones for real-world applications. However, many factors may play a significant role in the adoption of drone-delivery in the logistics sector. This paper attempts to unearth such critical success factors and establish the interrelationships between these factors. Twelve critical success factors were identified by systematically reviewing the literature and taking inputs from experts. An integrated multi-criteria decision-making technique, decision making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL)', combined with the Grey-based approach, was used to envisage causal relationships between the identified critical success factors. The results reveal that 'Technological advancements' and 'Government regulations' are the most influential factors that impact the adoption of drones in the logistics sector. The research implications of these findings will help practitioners and policymakers effectively implement drones in the logistics sector.
