摘要
While the distribution of supernova absolute magnitudes at peak is often investigated,. there was no systematic study of absolute light curve behavior near the inflection point. A type la supernova has the maximum of color B - V just near this point. And the maximum of this color corresponds to the minimum of photospheric temperature. So we could expect the light from type la supernova at inflection point to be a better standard candle than at the peak. We determined positions of inflection points on the light curves of type la supernovae and studied the distributions of absolute magnitudes M-B and M-V for them for the first time. The standard deviation of M-B at the inflection point is 0(m).47, which is approximately a factor of 1.5 smaller than at the peak of the light curve.
