5G is emerging as a significant research topic and it has been a difficult task to design antennas with small sizes which are required for the design of high frequencies that are capable of supporting 5G technology. This paper consists of the design and comparisons between patch and slotted antenna parameters with a symmetrical U shaped slots about the centre of the patch. The various parameters were observed for the designed frequency of 25 GHz with some practical limits. The tool used for the design and simulation is CST STUDIO SUITE 2018. RT duroid 5880 was used as dielectric substrate. Low cost, low profile, and ease of fabrication are the major highlights for using patch antenna for the design.
