UDP/IP headers and data sensitivity degree determination implemented technique for the real-time multimedia applications and protocols

摘要
Audio and video applications often prefer damaged packets over lost packets. One way for an application to allow delivery of damage packets is to disable checksum. This would, however, that important application specific headers might pass unverified. Also, in the next version of IP (IPv4), the UDP checksum is mandatory since there is no header checksum in IPv6 UDP lite was introduced to solve this problem by using a partial checksum. In this paper, we introduce an evaluation for the UDP lite. We demonstrate implemented technique to solve the problem and overcome all the drawbacks that found in the UDP lite. Also we explain an implemented technique to determine a position of bit error and error quantity in the IP and UDP packets.
