摘要
Failures in patient safety are a global health priority, as they are associated with morbidity, mortality, and increased hospital costs. This study evaluated the perception of managers regarding the adherence of a public hospital to NPSP, providing data that could be used to reduce service failure. Data were collected through structured interviews with 43 hospital managers using the Survey Monkey (R) platform. The interviews showed that the patient's safety culture was not widespread in the institutions. The security incident with damage is recognized by 71.2% of managers, compromising identification, notification and investigation of security flaws, as well as the planning and development of actions for their correction and prevention. When a fault is identified, in 21% of cases it is not notified, and investigation and disclosure of corrective actions are not made in all cases. It was concluded that the hospital's adherence to NPSP is incipient. The existence of a patient safety core in hospital does not guarantee notification of all cases of patient safety failures. Strategies should be developed to increase safety culture in hospitals, increase reporting of adverse events, and thereby improve health care.
