摘要
This article gives an overview of the development of a full reference video quality measurement tool within BTexact. Most importantly, this development has been grounded on a detailed understanding of the human visual system to ensure that the tool produces quality measures that are representative of human quality judgements. This tool provides a powerful asset to the video industry as it allows procurement and configuration decisions to be based on the factors which directly affect the quality of services in the eyes of their users. The full reference tool is particularly suited for use during the development and configuration of video applications, codecs, and delivery mechanisms.
