摘要：

This article is the result of a doctoral research about the tension between some knowledge produced within Physical Education (PE) and those produced within the religious scope. It was an ethnographic study conducted in a public school in the city of Campinas, SP, Brazil. Five Evangelical girls were selected from high school classes. The goal was to understand the way those girls relate church teachings with other ways to manage their bodies that they learn outside religion, and to which extent PE plays a tensioning role in that relation.
