摘要
Characterization of rigid and plasticized PVC-PMMA blends: I- Study of the miscibility. This paper presents a complementary study on the miscibility of PVC- PMMA blends. In a previous paper we have found that the blends obtained by coprecipitation of the two polymers were miscible up to 60 wt % of PMMA. This miscibility was due to a specific interaction of hydrogen- bonding type between carbonyl groups (C = O) of PMMA and hydrogen from (CHCl) groups of PVC. In this paper, the miscibility of rigid and plasticized PVC-PMMA blends is reported. For that purpose, blends of variable composition from 0 to 100 wt % were prepared in the absence. and in the presence of a plasticizer. Their physico-chemical characterization was carried out by differential scanning calorimetric analysis (DSC) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, (FTIR). Thermogram analysis showed a polymer miscibility up to 60 wt % PMMA. FTIR analysis of the blends, after purification, confirmed the presence of the specific interaction of hydrogen- bonding type within the miscibility domain.
