摘要
Polymer Matrix Composites reinforced with natural fiber is advantageous, due to be low cost and improved mechanical properties. It is having applications in automobiles and transportation industries. The composite consisting of an epoxy resin matrix reinforced with different fiber orientation are used, due to their high strength, light weight and free from corrosion. This project describes the comparison of different grades of base metal reinforced with aloe Vera fibers. Two different specimens are fabricated by using Hand layup process and their mechanical properties are compared. Epoxy of different grades LY 556 and GY 250 are added with the hardener HY 951 and reinforced with aloe Vera. By comparing LY 556 and GY 250, Epoxy GY 250 showed improved ultimate and flexural strength compared to LY 556 reinforced aloe Vera. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
