摘要
The author analyzes the radical movement of the peasantry in Latin America at the end of 20th - beginning of 21st centuries, compares them with previous revolutionary stages, highlights the main features - the struggle against government policies resulting in the landless peasants, the devastation of the countryside, the confiscation of fertile land from local residents and its transfer to the major local landowners and foreign agribusiness corporations. The massive, prolonged intrusion of transnational corporations into the economy and politics, their interference in the internal affairs of the countries of the region, the desire to establish full control over the natural resources causes a powerful wave of resistance in agricultural areas. The combination of slogans of self-determination, anti-imperialism and resistance to neoliberalism is present in all peasant movements of Latin America.
