A study on incident traffic control strategy for urban expressway

摘要
Because of the closet connection with street surface network,fi and shorter, distance between ramps than freeway, traffic on urban expressway network is more sensitive to incident and it is difficult to release heavy congestion only by speed limits and VMS. Our study aims to find an effective approach to release congestion caused by incident. Information provision speed limit and on-ramp metering are considered simultaneously in this approach. The main contribute of this paper is introduction of this approach, including the model and the algorithm. We also give comparison between the approach and some other approaches as explanation of the effect for dispersing queue and releasing congestion.
