摘要
Precracking methods applicable to homogeneous metal and ceramic composite materials are not appropriate for functionally graded materials (FGMs). A novel reverse 4-point bending method that allows to develop controlled, sharp, short precrack at the machined notch in metallic/ceramic FGM beams allowing accurate J-R measurements is presented. This method can be used in fatigue or monotonic loading.
