摘要：
The basic theory of the purchasing power at par refers to the rate of one country's currency to U.S. dollar while purchasing "a basket" goods and services in the same quantity and quality respectively in this country and U.S.A. Some international organizations such as International Monetary Fund, World Bank, the United Nations have carried out the calculation of the purchasing power at par in the currencies of most world economic bodies. According to the result worked out by World Bank, the purchasing power at par of Chinese Yuan to U.S. dollar in 1998 is 2.1:1, based on which, 1.98:1 can be deduced at the beginning of 2001.
