摘要
Cardiac surgery is a high-risk surgery proposed in increasingly older and comorbid patients. Scores are useful for predicting postoperative mortality but less useful for individual risk prediction. Perioperative management is based on an accurate assessment of the patient's history and the impact of his heart disease. Enhanced Recovery After Cardiac Surgery programs are promising, particularly in improving patient analgesia. The cardiopulmonary bypass necessary for most procedures contributes to the physiopathology of most postoperative complications. The different complications are related to the patient's history and the complexity of the surgery. The development of minimally invasive procedures (TAVR in particular) shows encouraging results and makes it possible to offer practically every patient a solution adapted to his or her basic condition and pathology.
