摘要
This report is the result of a study by The Warren Centre ibr Advanced Engineering at The University of Sydney of the potential of underground space use to create and maintain more liveable cities in Australia and the role that advanced technologies could play in assisting the effective use of underground space. The study was conducted from mid 1995 to mid-1996 and involved more than 100 participants from a variety of professional disciplines in industry, academia and government. Ten working groups were convened to study and report on the following topics: strategic planning; environmental implications; planning issues; case studies in Australia and overseas; transport; financing; legal aspects; geotechnical aspects; underground technology; and research and development. This paper summarizes the results of the study. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd.
