摘要
The High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) instrument has been developed as a German contribution to the Russian MARS'96 mission. The main scientific objectives are to acquire high-quality image data at high spatial resolution, in stereo, in colour and at multi-phase angles, to achieve nearly global coverage of the Martian surface during the mapping phase and to observe most of the polar areas. For the MARS EXPRESS mission the existing second flight model of the HRSC instrument shall be used with modifications needed for the accommodation on the MARS EXPRESS spacecraft. An additional camera channel, called Super Resolution Channel (SRC), will be added on. This camera is based on a two dimensional CCD-array cutting out a part of the field of view of the stereo channel in high resolution.
