摘要
The rotary furnaces are generally used for granular charge thermal treatment. Their main disadvantages are negative economic and ecological indexes. The rotary furnace research was focused on the furnace operation improvement so as to obtain improved operating parameters. For their analysis and design generally mathematical models are used. Mathematical modeling belongs to the fundamental methods of their research. A mathematical model based on the method of elementary balances was created for the thermal treatment of granular and lumpy materials. Adaption of the selected aggregate model is based on the use of a priori knowledge and experiments. Presented mathematical model was developed for the magnesite processing rotary furnace using mode of caustic and clinker production. The simulation of the charge preheater impact based on the thin layer principle is implemented to the model. The main advantages of using this type of preheater of rotary furnace are smaller dimensions for large exchange surface and low pressure losses. Presented charge preheater in comparison with the standard preheaters is smart solution mainly because of effective charge arrangement in thin layer and counter flow.
